Practical facilities

The Computing Laboratory's practical facilities for undergraduate and full-time postgraduate courses are located in the Thom Building of the Department of Engineering Science.

These include 35 Sun Blade 100 workstations running the Solaris operating system. These share a large laboratory with 15 Sun workstations belonging to the Department of Engineering Science and used for IT practicals.

The practical facilities also include a further 17 Sun Blade 100 workstations running Solaris for undergraduate practical work, and 25 Sun workstations used for the Computing Laboratory's full-time MSc courses.
